I. Overview LCP is a class with the outstanding performance of the new type of polymer. LCP is a wide range and a class of materials: a lyotropic liquid crystal: processing solution; b thermotropic liquid crystal: processing in the molten state.
Initially the liquid crystal polymer is industrialized U.S. Dupont company developed lyotropic poly p-phenylene terephthalamide (Kevlar ®). Polymers of this type can only be processed in solution, not melt, can only use for fibers and coatings.
LCP Characteristics and Applications
